This week on FOSTER 5 on Friday catch up with the latest games, traditions, and noteworthy collegiate news to keep you to up to date.
1. Game of the Week
This was such an exciting game to watch. No. 3 Texas Tech beat No. 10 Arkansas after one of the two largest comebacks completed in the Sweet 16. The game finished 85-83 after OT.
2. Fun Fact
The University of Georgia is home to the Arch, a historic symbol located on North Campus. According to tradition, students are not supposed to walk under the Arch until they graduate. Walking under it before then is said to prevent you from graduating on time!
3. College Town Restaurant
The Chimes has served Baton Rouge and LSU students for 40 years. Just past the North Gates of campus, The Chimes has become a hotspot for LSU fans and students looking to watch a LSU game, eat some good Louisiana food, or drink a cool beer in Tiger Town.
Located at 3357 Highland Rd or 10870 Coursey Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA
4. Tradition Talk
Unique OU tradition: The Drum Major’s iconic backbend. Before each home football game, The Drum Major, a member of the University of Oklahoma’s Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band, performs an impressive backbend. This is a symbol of spirit, flexibility, and leadership. The crowd cheers every time it’s performed. This has become a beloved part of OU’s game day experience!
